Summer. Most people love that word and what it stands for: Sun, sand, pool, firing up the grill, leaving the office early on a Friday. Me, I hate it. Well, maybe hate is too strong of a word. Dread. I dread the summer. Why? My son leaves home for 7 weeks of sleep-away camp.

That’s what makes summer camp an incredibly generous and selfless gift. Summer camp isn’t for parents (unless you count our family camp weekend), it’s for their children—and it’s an experience that is so grand and delicate it’s almost impossible to describe.

Another amazing summer has gone by and we are already looking forward to next season. In the meantime, please take a moment to look back and reflect on the summer past. We had a great time and it sure looks like you did as well.

In 2014, a girl's bunk from Indian Head Camp wanted to share why they felt so lucky to be able to call camp their home every summer. So they made a short film comparing what their summer days would have been like if it wasn't for camp.
